It won't necessarily be easy, but it could be done.  I didn't know anything  
about EOF's code when I started working on fixes/features.  It took a  
while, studying the programming and commenting program behavior, but that's  
how I became able to understand how it all works.  Since then, I've been  
able to make huge amounts of progress with shaping the program's evolution.
